Lisa Jackson, Web Revisions & Office Management

Lisa, a violinist, spent 9 years as a full-time first violinist with the Tulsa Philharmonic until they folded in 2002. At that time, she was given the choice of taking more grueling auditions to win another job, or pursue other possible interests. Since her education is in music, having earned a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the renowned Eastman School of Music, and a Master of Music in Violin Performance and Literature from the University of Akron, she was faced with a very difficult decision.

After many rounds with the book, What Color is Your Parachute by Richard Nelson Bolles, and deciding to start designing greeting cards as a hobby, Lisa kept coming back to graphic design in her mind. She finally met Kara in 2007, as she was her standpartner on a job, and Lisa learned Kara had her own graphic design business. Six months after that first meeting, serendipity ruled as they were standpartners again at another job, and Lisa worked up the courage to ask Kara if she was interested in having an apprentice in her office. Kara took a chance and hired Lisa as her office manager and Lisa is learning very cool things! Lisa continues to play violin as much as possible, subbing very often with the Kansas City Symphony. She plays with the Kansas City Chamber Orchestra, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, and many other ensembles. She also has a full studio of violin and viola students.
